The Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas is a stunning resort destination in… quite literally… paradise. Being more of an adventure traveler than a luxury traveler, I never spent much time thinking about traveling to the Atlantis Hotel until I was invited to a wedding taking place in Nassau. All the guests were staying at the resorts so I went along with and was blown away by the sheer scale of the Atlantis resorts.
The grounds are massive, with connecting pathways between the four different hotels. The stunning architecture and lush tropical gardens surround its expansive water park and open air aquarium. If you don’t want to spend time at the pool? No problem, there are a multitude of dining options and a casino in one of the hotels. Oh, and it’s all connected to a tropical beach.
Whether you're a family looking for an adventure-packed getaway, or a couple seeking a romantic escape, the Atlantis is the perfect starting point for your Bahamas adventure. Its close proximity to Nassau makes for easy access to tons of restaurants, shops, and its world-famous beaches.
When to Visit?
The best time to visit the Bahamas depends on a few factors, such as your personal preferences and what you hope to experience during your trip. I visited in late January and the weather was perfect. Here are some general guidelines to help you decide when to visit:
High Season: the high season in the Bahamas typically runs from mid-December to mid-April, when the weather is warm and sunny, making it ideal for beach activities and water sports. This is also when the crowds are the largest and prices are highest.
Shoulder Season: The shoulder season is from mid-April to June and September to mid-December, when the weather is still warm and sunny, but not as crowded as the high season. This is a good time to visit for those who want to enjoy the beaches and attractions without the large crowds.
Low Season: The low season in the Bahamas is from June to September, when the weather is hot and humid, and there is a higher chance of rain and storms. This is the quietest time to visit and prices are lower, but some attractions and restaurants may be closed.
In general, the best time to visit the Bahamas is from mid-December to mid-April, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are at their peak. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, the shoulder season is a good time to visit. However, keep in mind that the weather during the low season can be unpredictable, so it’s important to check the forecast before you go.
